Job Overview:
As a vital member of our team at Cynet Systems, you will engage in various responsibilities typical of a medical laboratory scientist (MLS), medical technologist, or clinical laboratory scientist. Your work environment will be defined in the requirements section.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess the acceptability of specimens for testing based on established criteria.
- Execute both routine and advanced technical procedures in accordance with departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
- Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments to ensure optimal performance.
- Exhibit the capability to make informed technical decisions regarding testing and problem resolution.
- Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
- Deliver accurate and timely test results to support quality patient care.
- Conduct and document preventive maintenance and quality control measures.
- Identify and restock testing bench supplies as needed.
- Assist with specimen processing when required.
- Uphold a safe working environment and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or compliance with local regulatory requirements (CLIA & State).
- A minimum of 2-4 years of experience in clinical laboratory testing is essential.
- A State Medical Technologist license may be necessary (this will be specified in the requirements if applicable).
- SCP or AMT certification is preferred or required (this will be indicated in the requirements if necessary).
- Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Proficiency in computer usage; familiarity with laboratory information systems is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail coupled with excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Capability to pass a standardized color vision screening.
- Willingness to work overtime or alternative shifts based on business needs.
