About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Member Customer Service Representative at the YMCA of Greater Houston.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Exceptional Customer Service: Deliver prompt and courteous service to current and prospective members, ensuring a positive experience and contributing to member retention.
  • Build Relationships and Engage with Members: Foster relationships with members, help them connect with each other and the YMCA, and respond to their concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Process Membership Applications and Enrollments: Efficiently process membership applications, enroll new members, and register participants in classes and programs.
  • Implement Membership Department Procedures: Ensure compliance with membership policies and procedures, and implement procedures to maintain the effective and efficient operation of the Membership Department.
  • Attend Staff Meetings and Trainings: Participate in staff meetings and trainings as required to stay up-to-date on YMCA policies, procedures, and best practices.

Requirements
  • Minimum Age: 16 years old
  • Certifications: CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required within 30 days of hire
  • Excellent Interpersonal and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to connect with people of diverse backgrounds and resolve problems in a professional and courteous manner
  • Previous Customer Service Experience: Previous experience in customer service, sales, or a related field
  • Basic Computer Knowledge: Ability to use basic computer software and systems
Language Skills

Ability to read, comprehend, and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions and resolve routine problems.
