Work Schedule:

Position Summary:
The Adult Mobile Crisis Intervention (AMCI) Specialist delivers immediate support to adults experiencing crises by evaluating their needs and creating a tailored treatment strategy that prioritizes their safety and facilitates effective crisis resolution.
This role involves guiding individuals towards behavioral health services through referrals to community resources that align with their needs and preferences, including potential admissions to acute treatment facilities.
The AMCI Specialist operates within the Boston Community Behavioral Health Center (CBHC), providing on-site assessments and mobile capabilities to conduct evaluations at individuals' homes, schools, or agencies throughout the Greater Boston area. This position is integral to an integrated urgent care and emergency support services network.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver services in accordance with program standards, Bay Cove policies, and collaborative agency guidelines.
- Conduct thorough assessments of adults in crisis, focusing on their safety and needs.
- Collaborate with individuals in crisis to develop treatment plans that utilize community-based health, behavioral health, and social services to address the immediate crisis.
- Engage with individuals in crisis and their support systems to strengthen their coping mechanisms and facilitate their connection to necessary services.
- Maintain accurate documentation of assessments and interventions in line with program and Bay Cove standards, including securing financial and insurance information for billing purposes.
- Facilitate admissions to acute inpatient care as needed and provide brief support until appropriate community services are accessible, minimizing reliance on inpatient services.
- Preferred: Independent Licensed Clinician (LICSW, LMHC) with at least three years of experience in a mental health environment. Minimum requirement: Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
- Proven assessment and treatment skills in emergency services for adults, including crisis de-escalation techniques that ensure safety for all parties involved.
- Comprehensive knowledge of risk assessment related to acute psychiatric conditions for adults, along with an understanding of various social and behavioral health services.
- Ability to effectively evaluate mental status, formulate treatment plans, and implement appropriate dispositions for clients.
- Strong documentation skills, organizational abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.
