Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Support Specialist to join our Interventional Radiology (IR) Division at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH). As a key member of our team, you will provide critical support to our radiologists and technologists, ensuring the smooth operation of our procedure rooms and the delivery of exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist radiologists and technologists with patient preparation, imaging procedures, and room turnover tasks.
  • Manage sterile inventory, maintain stock levels, and ensure proper storage and handling of medical supplies.
  • Support equipment maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure proper functioning of imaging equipment.
  • Collaborate with the inventory coordinator to implement RFID tagging and stocking of medical supplies.
  • Assist with patient transport, greeting, and escorting patients between IR units.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to hospital standards and protocols.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors and team members.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; some college or Associate's degree preferred.
  • 1 year of previous healthcare experience and CPR certification preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift over 5 lbs and stand for long periods.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write English fluently.
