Position Overview

Key Responsibilities:

The Senior Aeroacoustic Engineer plays a pivotal role within the sound and vibration engineering division, concentrating on fluid dynamics and acoustic phenomena. This position involves collaborating with a diverse team to design and optimize centrifugal compressors.

Your expertise will be essential in providing sound and vibration technical guidance across various initiatives, from product innovation to field applications, working closely with product engineering, project management, marketing, technical services, and sales teams.

Core Duties:

  • Employ advanced software tools for predicting pulsation in centrifugal compressors during the initial design phases.
  • Oversee acoustic testing of new gas block designs, gathering data and generating reports that illustrate the acoustic characteristics of the designs.
  • Propose and integrate innovative technologies aimed at reducing sound emissions.
  • Refine existing methodologies for compressor design.
  • Utilize project management principles to ensure program execution aligns with budgetary and scheduling constraints.
  • Analyze and address aero-acoustic challenges through both experimental and analytical methods.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in the industry.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the aeroacoustic design process for compressors.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, and Project.
  • Strong verbal and written communication capabilities.

Desirable:

  • Advanced degree focusing on acoustics or a related discipline.
  • Experience with acoustic data acquisition and analysis tools such as Wave6 and Mueller-BBM PAK, as well as proficiency in ANSYS for structural applications.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes for aerodynamic components.
  • Proven project management skills.
