Job SummaryWe're seeking a strategic and experienced Vice President of Business Development to drive commercialization of Hertha's product. You'll enjoy working in a fast-paced startup environment where creativity, speed, initiative, and cross-functional teamwork are required to succeed.
Responsibilities- Define the company's vision, strategy, and roadmap, aligning with overall business and impact objectives.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to drive business growth.
- Identify new business opportunities within the industry.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers and customers.
- Manage key client relationships.
- Conduct market research and analysis, and develop pricing strategies.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment with overall business goals.
- Develop and execute marketing campaigns, attend industry events, and conferences.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and competitors.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or Economics. Graduate degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 6 years in a business development leadership role, with preferably at least two years of experience in the metals industry.
- Proven track record of leadership in steel or commodity companies, preferably in a startup environment.
- Must be a subject matter expert at finding and validating new business opportunities and developing a compelling business case for them.
- Must demonstrate solid listening skills and a consultative sales approach, with proven ability to identify and build relationships.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment.
- Strong team player with demonstrated interpersonal skills and good communication.
