Role Overview

We are excited to present an opportunity for a Financial Analyst to become a vital part of our Financial Planning & Analysis team. This hybrid position allows for collaboration within our office while also offering the flexibility of remote work.

The selected candidate will work closely with our leadership team to drive business growth. This role involves engaging with various management levels and departments to support the financial planning and analysis functions. Effective communication tailored to different audiences is essential. As a key member of the team, you will evaluate situations, identify trends and opportunities, provide actionable insights and recommendations, and implement solutions effectively. Strong project management and process improvement skills will be crucial in this position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze expense drivers for assigned functions and provide insights into financial performance.
  • Leverage financial planning, cost accounting, and internal reporting to deliver valuable business insights to leadership.
  • Conduct annual, quarterly, and long-term forecasting of operating expenses, capital expenditures, and headcount.
  • Examine cost structures at both business and functional levels, analyzing labor and non-labor costs while developing metrics to validate assumptions.
  • Aggregate, cleanse, and reconcile various data sources to facilitate structured reporting and inform business decisions.
  • Report actual results monthly, providing value-added variance analysis against forecasts, plans, and previous years, along with summarizing key points and drivers.
  • Identify opportunities and risks while influencing targeted metrics through collaborative teamwork with business leaders and contributors.
  • Establish and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with business leaders and teams, ensuring a clear understanding of business processes and objectives.
  • Assist in the development of financial automation and reporting tools.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, analytics, economics, or a related field is required.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in financial analysis, data analysis, or modeling, preferably in high-tech, consulting, or product/BI analytics.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel, including v-lookup and pivot tables.
  • Experience with reporting and visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with teams and stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated with a quick learning ability for new concepts.
  • High integrity with the ability to remain calm, make sound decisions, and adapt when necessary.
  • A passion for joining a growing organization that values enthusiasm and commitment.
Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience with Oracle or SAP is advantageous.
Compensation

The salary range for this position is $64,000 to $111,400 annually. At Viasat, we consider various factors when determining compensation, including the role's scope and the candidate's background and experience. Additional cash or stock incentives may be included in the compensation package, along with a comprehensive range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
