Position Overview:
The Patient Access Representative, under the supervision of the Patient Access Supervisor, Manager, and/or Director, plays a crucial role in the healthcare facility by managing patient registrations. This includes gathering essential demographic information and determining the appropriate payment sources for services rendered. The representative is also responsible for assisting patients in understanding their financial obligations and collecting payments as necessary. Additionally, this role may require coverage in the PBX/Communications Department as needed. Compliance with regulatory standards, including Title 22, EMTALA, and HIPAA, is mandatory.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
- Preferred: Two years of experience in hospital admissions.
- BCLS Certification is required.
- AB508 Training is required for those working in the Emergency Department.
