Roadway Foreman

The Roadway Foreman will oversee the execution of roadway work, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. This role requires strong leadership skills, the ability to read and interpret contract documents, and proficiency in industry practices and standards.

• Manage all segments of roadway work, including project planning, grading operations, and material placement.
• Understand and apply basic earthworks principles, such as excavation requirements, erosion controls, and material compaction.
• Review and verify shop drawings, plans, and other documents necessary for assigned phases of work.
• Determine sequencing of work and provide input to 3 Week Look-Ahead schedules.
• Communicate updates and impacts to schedule with field engineers on a daily basis.
• Adhere to safety standards and ensure trade and subcontractor site safety is in compliance with EGC standards and all applicable safety codes and regulations.
• Identify problems early and act immediately to provide solutions.
• Oversee work to ensure installation is in compliance with and conforms to the approved contract documents and maintain quality control for work performed by employees and subcontractors.

• Minimum of 5+ years' experience within the heavy civil construction industry.
• Background in Earthwork, Underground, Concrete, and Asphalt paving.
• Structures background is a plus.
• Proficient with Outlook, Excel, and Common Scheduling Programs a plus.
• Ability to read, understand, and interpret contract documents including drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and the project schedule.
• Solid written and oral communication skills.
• Strong leadership qualities.
• Hold Jobsite Progress Meetings.
• Ability to schedule in-house crews and subcontractors.
• Must be competent at performing complete and accurate project take-offs.
• Proficiency with industry practices, processes, and standards.
• OSHA requirements and other legal restrictions.

Ability to commute/relocate: Orlando, FL: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience: FDOT: 5 years (Preferred), Roadway Foreman: 5 years (Preferred), Civil Construction: 3 years (Preferred)

License/Certification: Driver's License (Preferred)
