Job Summary:

The Occupational Therapist will work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that address the unique needs of each student. You will provide targeted, evidence-based therapeutic interventions to facilitate student participation and occupational performance within the school environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate students' abilities and formulate occupational profiles through a variety of assessments and observations.
  • Develop occupationally based intervention plans based on student needs and evaluation results.
  • Provide evidence-based occupational therapy intervention to improve students' performance skills and participation.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop IEPs and intervention plans.
  • Adapt and modify environments, equipment, and materials to meet individual needs.
  • Document occupational therapy services to ensure accountability and meet standards for reimbursement.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current licensure by the North Carolina Board of Occupational Therapy.
  • Initial certification by the National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapy.
  • Two years of experience as an Occupational Therapist, preferably in a school setting.
Working Conditions:

The Occupational Therapist will work in a fast-paced school environment, interacting with students, teachers, and other professionals. The ability to be physically active, including standing, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, sitting, and walking, is required. The ability to lift up to 25 pounds routinely and 50 pounds occasionally is also necessary.
