Job Summary:

Live Nation Entertainment, a leading live entertainment and eCommerce company, is seeking a skilled Bartender to join our team at the Foundation Room. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests, ensuring a memorable experience in our upscale dining and nightlife establishment.

Responsibilities:
  • Welcome and acknowledge members, executives, and VIPs to instill appreciation for their membership and patronage.
  • Deliver impeccable service for upscale dining, staying current on the latest drink trends and understanding the fundamentals of mixology.
  • Recommend wines that complement particular foods from our menu.
  • Ensure responsible alcohol service, adhering to local ordinances and House of Blues alcohol policies.
  • Interact with guests in a natural, friendly demeanor, cultivating regular guests and repeat business.
  • Suggestively sell beverages and menu items to guests at the bar.
  • Deliver food and beverage orders promptly, prioritizing and organizing drink orders.
  • Prepare beverages according to standard recipes and venue specifications, maintaining control systems.
  • Record equipment failures and safety hazards in the bar log.
  • Recognize when guests are becoming too intoxicated and refuse further service of alcohol in a courteous and safety-minded manner.
  • Maintain House of Blues safety and sanitation standards.
  • Perform opening, running, and closing duties according to House of Blues policy.
  • Prepare guest checks and process payment according to House of Blues policy.
  • Maintain the bartender bank and perform cash pull/check out procedures.
  • Maintain appropriate comp and spill checks.
  • Attend pre-shift meetings conducted by the Manager on Duty prior to the start of each shift.
Qualifications:
  • CA Food Handlers Card
  • TIPS & RBS Certification
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience bartending in an upscale dining and nightlife establishment
  • The ability to upsell and offer food and drink suggestions to guests
  • Articulate vocabulary with the ability to adapt and socialize with current audiences
  • Exemplary and professional grooming standards
  • Flexible schedule and ability to work late hours and at nights
  • Cash handling experience
  • Strong working knowledge of all beverages
  • Physically able to pass a pour test and a mixology drill (timed)
  • Ability to deal with intoxicated guests in a positive and safety-minded manner
  • Skill in interpersonal communication and teamwork
  • Tolerance of all cultures, music, and art forms
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2 years of work experience in a high-volume environment
  • Experience recognizing valid IDs
  • Experience in a live music environment
Physical Demands/Working Environment:
  • Working environment is fast-paced, often loud, and stressful
  • Position requires extended periods of prolonged standing and working on your feet
  • Must be able to lift or move up to 25 pounds using proper lifting techniques
