Department Overview:

The Transportation and National Preparedness Department within MITRE's CSH Mission Operators Division is committed to enhancing risk management, modernizing IT, preparing for disasters, and improving customer experiences. We are seeking a Principal Program Manager to spearhead innovative solutions in customer-focused transformation projects within the DHS mission framework.

Roles & Responsibilities:

As a Program Manager at MITRE, you will oversee projects that support the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), concentrating on systems engineering and technical solutions. You will collaborate with government sponsors, manage project teams, and drive outcomes that align with sponsor goals. Your in-depth understanding of FEMA's mission areas will be vital in guiding our work program and fostering partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders. This position demands strong leadership, strategic foresight, and a dedication to excellence in technical product delivery.

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in national preparedness or related fields
  • Practical experience collaborating with FEMA and established customer connections
  • Comprehensive knowledge of FEMA sponsor mission areas and capability requirements
  • Proven leadership abilities in managing technical projects and engaging with government stakeholders
  • Demonstrated capacity to identify and evaluate technical risks and opportunities, fostering innovation in program strategies
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to problem-solving

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Specialization in electronic systems pertinent to FEMA's mission
