Oral Surgery Administrative Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Administrative Assistant to join our team at Salem Peabody Oral Surgery, Inc. in a fast-paced oral surgical practice. The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge of dental/oral surgery/medical insurance, as well as strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Answer phone calls related to scheduling appointments and general questions related to oral surgery.
  • Check in patients at the front desk, including collecting fees and coordinating patient documentation.
  • Communicate with referring dentists to ensure patient charts are complete prior and post appointment.
  • Understand and check patient insurance coverage to estimate collections and payments.
  • Filing patient charts.
  • Relay messages from referring dentists to our surgeons.
  • Comply with office policies, procedures, safety, OSHA, HIPAA, and MA Dental Board guidelines.
  • Ability to effectively function in a fast-paced and stressful environment.
  • Scheduling flexibility to account for occasional early/late appointment scheduling as well as some weekend openings.

Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to a stressful environment.
  • Solid computer skills and knowledge, with the ability to type quickly.
  • Knowledge of medical insurance coverage plans.
  • Dental and medical knowledge a plus.
  • Spanish speaking proficiency required.
