Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accessioning Clerk to join our team at Penn State Health. As an Accessioning Clerk, you will be responsible for performing venipuncture, patient registrations, and accessioning laboratory physician's orders into the laboratory information system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform venipuncture and collect blood samples from patients
  • Register patients into the hospital registration system
  • Accommodate laboratory physician's orders into the laboratory information system
  • Ensure proper handling of patient specimens
  • Verify accuracy of patient identification and demographic information
  • Verify insurance information
Requirements
  • High school diploma plus 6 months experience in Phlebotomy required
  • Good written and oral communication skills required
  • Good customer service skills required
  • Good computer skills required
  • Knowledge of first aid required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Medical Assistant experience or clerical experience in a medical setting preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
