Job Description

The Chubb Claim Director-TPA Oversight position operates on a hybrid work schedule, with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.

Summary

This role focuses on technical claim handling for Chubb nationwide, managing complex general liability and automobile claims, both litigated and non-litigated.

The successful candidate will be accountable for the handling and disposition of claims, including investigation, coverage determination, reserving, negotiation, and settlement or trial strategies.

This position requires some travel and coordination with internal and external business partners.

Responsibilities
  1. Provides exceptional customer service and works effectively with the insured, broker, and TPA in the adjustment of mainstream casualty, specialty risks, and business auto claims.
  2. Analyzes coverage and communicates coverage positions, as warranted, under the direction of a supervisor and coverage unit.
  3. Conducts, coordinates, and directs investigation into loss facts and extent of third-party damages.
  4. Directs and closely monitors assignments to experts and defense counsel.
  5. Evaluates information on coverage, liability, and damages to determine the extent of exposure to the insured and the company.
  6. Sets reserves within authority or makes claim recommendations concerning reserve changes to a supervisor.
  7. Reports to reinsurers and facilitates the prompt collection of reinsurance on those matters where they are accountable.
  8. Travels to conferences, mediations, and trials as necessary, with travel ranging from approximately 10% to 15%.
Qualifications

Over 5 years of experience handling moderate to complex commercial auto and general liability claims.

Focus on customer service and relationship development.

Proficiency in independently analyzing insurance coverages and drafting coverage letters to communicate coverage issues.

Experience in analyzing risk transfer tenders, including additional insured tenders.

Ability to exercise critical thinking and apply proper judgment in the evaluation of claims, exposures, and execution of strategies to resolve claims.

Understanding of insurance and legal principles across multiple jurisdictions.

Experience in managing claims through the litigation process.

Excellent interpersonal communication skills and presentation skills.

Ability to successfully organize and manage workload and triage priorities.

A bachelor's degree is required.

Licensed as an Adjuster in a home state or the ability to earn a license within 90 days of starting is required.

Compensation

The pay range for this role is $80,500 to $137,000, with the specific offer dependent on an applicant's skills and other factors.

This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program.
