Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Program Engineer to contribute to a state-of-the-art classified weapons system acquisition initiative. The selected candidate will assist the government Program Manager in overseeing all technical operations within the program office and liaising with senior technical management from prime contractors and government technical support entities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate the implementation of classified advanced development research and development (R&D) initiatives.
  • Collaborate with clients to identify new capabilities, assess gaps, establish requirements, and formulate program objectives, as well as operational capabilities. Create project task descriptions, specifications, integrated roadmaps, detailed timelines, and program budgets.
  • Generate acquisition and technical documentation, including statements of work, performance work statements, and specifications. Evaluate contractor proposals in accordance with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Organize technical reviews, conduct data analysis and reporting, and track team and contract performance. Promote customer engagement and project management throughout the design, engineering, integration, testing, and program execution phases. Develop, implement, monitor, and report on multiple assigned project tasks.
  • Act as the systems engineer for project technical execution, coordination, risk management, and communication of concerns and issues with program management and technical leadership.
  • Coordinate activities between government and contractor project leads and engineers, along with operational subject matter experts, warfighters, and military leaders involved in program planning and execution.
  • Provide insights to evaluate project execution effectiveness and suggest improvements to task processes for future project activities or design reviews.
  • Collaborate with Project Management and Task Leads to strategize future capabilities and contribute to roadmaps for analysis, risk mitigation, development, and integration of advanced capabilities.
Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field from an accredited institution. Experience cannot replace educational qualifications.

Clearance Requirement:

  • Current Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) or Federal Investigative Standard Tier 5 (TS) or Tier 5 Reinvestigation (TSR).
  • Final Department of Defense (DoD) Top Secret Clearance.
  • Eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).

Travel Requirement:

  • Willingness to travel significantly, at least 10% of the time.

Experience:

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in areas such as Weapon Systems, Mission Planning Systems, Avionics Systems, Survivability Analysis, and Program Management.
  • At least two (2) years of experience coordinating operations across various organizational boundaries.
  • Two (2) years of experience in a classified program security environment.

Skills:

  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
