KBR is seeking a Lead Electromagnetic Systems Engineer to enhance our team. You will be part of a dedicated group focusing on Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3), working on advanced technologies to ensure superiority in air and sea operations. Your role will involve conducting assessments related to electromagnetic interference (EMI) and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) as part of larger initiatives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyze and assess new or modified aircraft, intricate avionics systems, communication devices, subsystems, and components to evaluate their electromagnetic integrity.
- Independently establish design requirements for electromagnetic environmental effects for new or modified avionics and systems. Assist in EMI/EMC testing, including ground and flight tests, and manage test programs.
- Examine electronic systems at various levels (circuit, board, box, and system) to ensure adherence to E3 best practices. Provide guidance to avionics engineers on electromagnetic compatibility standards and design strategies. Conduct risk assessments of electromagnetic environmental effects test outcomes in relation to operational impacts and program objectives.
- Define E3 testing criteria and review testing protocols for appropriate application. Supervise E3 testing at the box level, ground, and flight stages for the program office. Facilitate the transition of equipment from development to operational status.
- Offer E3 support throughout the lifecycle of the system to assigned Program Management Activities (PMAs) and Class Desks. Participate in Integrated Product Team meetings, design reviews, test planning sessions, and Fleet forums to address programmatic and performance risks associated with electromagnetic environmental effects.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Security Clearance: Must possess a Secret clearance or be eligible to obtain and maintain one.
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field from an accredited institution.
Professional Experience: A minimum of 7-10 years in an Electromagnetics Engineering role, with at least 3 years focused on avionics systems or integration.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with the Electromagnetic Compatibility Test and Evaluation Branch.
- Proven understanding of electromagnetic interference testing, E3 design, and operational capabilities of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS).
- Experience in analyzing electromagnetic interactions within aircraft systems and managing the electromagnetic spectrum.
- Familiarity with UAS, their avionics, and Ground Control Systems in operational settings.
WORK SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week
RELOCATION ASSISTANCE: KBR provides relocation support for qualified candidates.
COMPENSATION: Salary range of $120,000-150,000, determined by the candidate's qualifications and experience.
ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION: KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other compensation forms based on internal policies or contractual agreements. This may include sign-on bonuses, relocation benefits, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for outstanding performance.
