Job Summary

PacifiCorp is seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to lead our efforts in wildfire risk modeling and analysis. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing complex data science solutions to support our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth research studies and technical analyses to identify trends and patterns in data related to wildfire risk and electric service reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement data-driven solutions to support business objectives.
  • Lead data science projects, processes, and systems to ensure timely and effective delivery of results.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to team members on data science best practices and methodologies.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Analytics, Statistics, Math, or Engineering from an accredited college/university.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in a power/utility/energy industry or related profession, including experience performing highly technical work of a specialized nature.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills, with ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's or Ph.D. in quantitative fields.
  • Experience working in the utilities, risk management, or wildfire mitigation sector.
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data visualization tools.
