The Compliance Auditor plays a crucial role in performing independent evaluations of the organization's operations to determine the effectiveness of internal controls and adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and corporate policies. This encompasses various operational areas, including revenue management, financial reporting, and compliance with tax obligations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct ongoing compliance assessments of policies and procedures within revenue-generating departments;
- Perform operational evaluations to ensure that procedures are clear and effectively implemented by staff;
- Carry out regular site inspections at various facilities to verify adherence to established policies;
- Analyze collected data to identify weaknesses in controls, redundancy, inefficiencies, potential fraud, or non-compliance with legal and regulatory requirements;
- Document audit methodologies and prepare comprehensive work papers that substantiate testing outcomes;
- Draft reports for management detailing audit findings, including actionable recommendations for enhancements;
- Confirm the existence, proper management, and protection of company assets through various audit techniques;
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
- This position does not have any direct supervisory responsibilities.
- Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, capable of engaging with all organizational levels;
- Effectively manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment;
- Be available to work as needed, including weekends and holidays.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in finance, accounting, or business operations; prior experience in internal or external auditing is preferred;
- Education Required: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience;
- Knowledge of standards and practices related to gaming operations and/or wagering is advantageous;
- Proficient in computer skills, including knowledge of the Internet and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other auditing software.
- Must be at least 21 years old and obtain and maintain a valid gaming and/or racing license.
The physical requirements and work environment described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. Must be capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds. The work environment includes an office and casino setting, with exposure to varying temperatures, smoke, bright lights, and noise. The surroundings are generally non-demanding with a low noise level, although occasional exposure to extreme heat or cold may occur.
