Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Plumbing Inspector to join our team at the City of Savannah. As a key member of our Development Services Department, you will be responsible for ensuring that all plumbing systems in commercial and residential buildings meet the highest standards of safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough inspections of plumbing systems to ensure code compliance and identify potential hazards.
  • Review plans and specifications for plumbing systems to ensure they meet local and state regulations.
  • Issue permits and schedule inspections as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, permits, and other relevant data.
  • Communicate with property owners, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve plumbing code violations and ensure compliance.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, plus additional vocational training in drafting, design technology, or plumbing.
  • Three years of journey-level plumbing experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Master Plumber Unrestricted License with the State of Georgia within 12 months of employment.
  • ICC Commercial and Residential Plumbing Inspector certification within 12 months of employment.
  • Valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history.
