Telemetry Technician Full Time Day Shift

We are seeking a skilled Telemetry Technician to join our team at Select Specialty Hospitals. As a Telemetry Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our cardiac monitoring systems.
Responsibilities:- Monitor patients' cardiac rhythms and respond to alarms in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Verify correct identification of basic rhythms, lethal rhythms, and artifact.
- Maintain EKG monitor alarms and respond to all alarms as needed.
- Continuously observe all monitors assigned and respond to alarms promptly and appropriately.
- Complete EKG interpretations, including rate, regularity, PRI, QRS, QTI, QTc, ST segment, waveform alterations, and rhythm interpretation.
- Ensure strip interpretations are validated by RN.
- Verify physician privileges prior to transcribing orders.
- Appropriately transcribe and flag orders from charts.
- Review tests to be completed, track results obtained, and file all results in patients' charts.
- Notify staff of pending orders and notify physician when directed by nurse.
- Call for consults per physician orders and arrange for transport of patients for tests not offered in the hospital.
- Schedule appointments and follow-up visits.
- Place all orders on Kardex.
- Must complete and pass EKG class for Monitor Techs and required competencies on education platform within 30 days of start date in position and pass other tests/competencies as required by Select Medical.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred background as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Licensed Paramedic, or RN nursing student with EKG training (LPNs are limited to working as telemetry tech only).
