This position is part of a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation aimed at recruiting and appointing qualified candidates for roles within the competitive service.

This role is situated within the Army Tank-Automotive and Armament Command (TACOM).

Responsibilities
- Responds to requests for police assistance and emergency support, coordinating with rescue teams and firefighters.
- Investigates criminal activities and prepares detailed reports.
- Conducts initial inquiries into security incidents, interviewing witnesses and gathering evidence.
- Subdues and disarms individuals engaging in violent behavior and apprehends suspects.
- Escorts distinguished guests and provides directions as necessary.
- Operates patrol vehicles around the facility, issuing citations for parking infractions.
- Utilizes radar speed detection devices and breath analysis equipment.
- Directs traffic and, when necessary, guides individuals away from hazardous situations such as accidents and fires.
- Provides depositions and testifies in court when required.

Qualifications Who May Apply:
US Citizens. To qualify, you must meet the experience requirements outlined below.

Experience encompasses both paid and unpaid roles, including volunteer work through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).

Your resume must clearly articulate your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Specialized Experience:

For the GS-06 Level: One year of specialized experience which prepared you to perform the duties of this position. Specialized experience is defined as experience typically related to law enforcement operations, practices, and techniques, including maintaining order and safeguarding life and property.

For the GS-07 Level: One year of specialized experience that includes:
(1) Prevention, detection, and/or investigation of crimes;
(2) Protection of property against hazards such as fire, theft, damage, or trespass;
(3) Maintaining order and protecting life.

Education
Some federal positions allow for education to substitute for required experience. For this role, you must meet the qualification requirements through experience alone; no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Additional Information
Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. Proof of U.S. Citizenship is required. A one-year trial/probationary period may be necessary. Direct Deposit of Pay is mandatory. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from the Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
