Job SummaryThe Heavy Equipment Operator will be responsible for the safe operation of heavy equipment at a recycling center, landfill or transfer station.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy equipment operation and a commitment to safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Operate heavy equipment, including forklifts, excavators, bulldozers, and front-end loaders, in a safe and efficient manner.
- Monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable materials and take corrective action as needed.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with other team members to achieve operational goals and objectives.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Two years of experience in heavy equipment operation.
- One year of experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
