Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Neurosurgeon to join our team at Physician Affiliate Group of New York. As a key member of our medical staff, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive, compassionate quality care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Examine patients, order or perform diagnostic tests, and formulate diagnoses.
  • Direct or perform therapeutic treatment and counsel patients.
  • Consult with other members of the professional staff as needed.
  • Timely completion of documentation in the Electronic Health Record.
  • Handle treatment of surgical diseases of the brain and spine, and peripheral nerves.
  • Provide comprehensive, compassionate quality care to patients.
  • Provide data and assist in the quality management of the neurosurgeon division of the department of surgery.
  • Supervise Physician Assistants and residents.
  • Provide clinical guidance and direction to the house staff and other members of the healthcare team as needed.
  • Advises less experienced members of the professional medical staff.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the Privacy and Security rules outlined in the HIPAA guideline.
  • Assists in the establishment and maintenance of standards of performance for physicians and other professional employees working in the service.
  • Maintains required credentials, current licensure, and CME requirements.
  • Performs other administrative, professional, consultative duties as needed by the Department Chairperson.
  • Adheres to all hospital and departmental guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Adheres to the departmental attendance policy.
  • Complies with and maintains Employee Health requirements.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved medical school.
  • Successful completion of an accredited residency program in the appropriate clinical specialty.
  • Possession of a valid license to practice medicine in New York State.
  • Possession of a valid DEA License.
  • Current Board Certification issued by the American Board of Neurological Surgery or eligibility to obtain Board Certification within 5 years of hire.
  • Excellent bedside manner and interpersonal skills.
