About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Specialist to join our team at Children's Health. As a key member of our Patient Financial Services department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective management of patient access activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify patient demographic information and process point of service payments to facilitate efficient patient access.
  • Ensure the appropriateness of complex patient access transactions, including coverage eligibility, insurance verification, and patient portion calculation.
  • Act as a liaison to resolve complex patient access and account issues, and provide guidance and training to staff on multiple processes and systems.
  • Monitor work queue assignments and assess productivity, and prepare consolidated payer-specific registration and reimbursement data for presentation.
Requirements
  • At least 5 years of customer service experience, with three years of healthcare experience, including Patient Access operations activities.
  • Extensive knowledge of general procedures and guidelines used by health insurance companies, government agencies, and internal departments.
  • Excellent mathematical skills, computer skills, and Microsoft applications and word processing programs skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain productive working relationships and communicate effectively in English, written and verbal.
