Position Overview

Samaritan Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Travel Nurse RN to join our team in the Emergency Department. This role requires a commitment to providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Certification Requirements
  • Valid New York State RN license.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory.
  • PALS certification must be obtained within six months of hire or transfer.
  • Successful completion of the lethal dysrhythmia exam during probation and defibrillation certification within six months of employment is required.
  • IV, medication, and phlebotomy certifications must be achieved during orientation.
Job Details
  • Work Schedule: 7 PM to 7 AM shift.
  • Work week spans from Thursday to Wednesday.
  • Position duration: 13 weeks.
  • Entry-level candidates may apply, but a minimum of one year of acute care nursing experience is essential.
  • Strong understanding of nursing principles and the ability to assess and address patient needs, including clinical, educational, mental, and spiritual aspects.
  • Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure situations and demonstrate creative problem-solving skills.
  • Leadership capabilities with proficiency in prioritizing and delegating tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, along with strong organizational abilities.
Job Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Experience in Critical Care and charge nurse roles is preferred.
  • Ability to identify and respond to life-threatening situations is crucial.
  • Awareness of safety protocols for self and others, including the safe use of lifts for patient mobility.
  • May be required to take on responsibilities as a charge nurse.
Schedule Information
  • 7 PM to 7 AM shift.
  • Work week: Thursday to Wednesday.
