About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join our Data Center Design Engineering team at Amazon. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for our data centers, ensuring they meet the highest standards of safety, security, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with product engineers and project engineers to incorporate new innovations into data center designs.
  • Develop key engineering details for first-of-a-kind designs.
  • Document and communicate new engineering standards and requirements for our larger engineering team.
  • Mentor engineers across the Design Engineering organization.
  • Data center electrical designs and collaboration with other disciplines and stakeholder teams to deliver results.
  • Creation of designs which meet or exceed our quality requirements and fall within our budgetary requirements.
  • Work with local agencies having jurisdiction to ensure compliance with federal, state and municipal requirements and building codes.
  • Review and approval of equipment submittals.
  • Define project scope and provide technical support for information requests prior to, and during construction phases.
  • Work with commissioning teams to properly test and validate installation, operation, and performance of electrical systems.
  • Ability to work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical regions.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in an electrical engineering, or 12+ years of relevant electrical experience.
  • Professional Engineering License.
  • 10+ years of experience developing design documentation (plans, specifications, etc.) for construction.
  • 7+ years of experience in Data Center or relevant Mission Critical design.
