Courtroom Clerk

This is a full-time, non-exempt position responsible for providing administrative support to the Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide clerical support to the Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller, including preparing and maintaining records, and performing various administrative tasks.
• Assist with jury administration, evidence intake and inventory, court prep, and case management.
• Work closely with judicial staff and attorneys to ensure the smooth operation of the court.
• Perform a variety of advanced clerical duties, including data entry, record-keeping, and filing.
• Maintain confidentiality of protected and/or sensitive records.
• Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.

Requirements:

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• At least one year of relevant work experience is preferred.
• Legible penmanship and the ability to make annotations quickly are required.
• Public speaking is required, with the ability to read verbatim from court documents.
• Exceptional attendance record and ability to work before or after business hours, including weekends, holidays, or during declared emergencies.
• Prior experience in legal terminology or court proceedings is preferred.
• Ability to work under high stress and pressure while producing accurate work and maintaining a professional demeanor.

Working Conditions:

This position requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods, while concentrating on repetitious or complex tasks. Considerable skill, adeptness, and speed in use of fingers, hands, or limbs in performing tasks are required.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this position is $15.50/hr. The position is not available for telework.
