Job Summary

The Superior Court of California, County of Nevada is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Court Clerk I/II to join our team in Truckee. As a Court Clerk, you will play a critical role in supporting the court's operations and providing exceptional customer service to the public.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and maintain a wide variety of legal documents, including preparing and indexing exhibits, notices, and warrants.
  • Collect and record fees, fines, and bail monies, and maintain accurate accounting records.
  • Provide clerical support in the courtroom, including taking notes and preparing reports.
  • Act as a resource to other staff members, attorneys, and the public regarding court operations, procedures, and requirements.
  • Maintain and update court calendars to indicate the status and disposition of cases.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • At least one year of experience in a clerical or administrative role, preferably in a court or legal environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in computer software applications, including Microsoft Office and court-specific systems.
Working Conditions

The Court Clerk I/II will work in a standard office environment, with occasional exposure to high-stress situations and continuous contact with staff, patrons, and the public. The position requires the ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds, and to sit for extended periods of time.
