Cabinet Peaks Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to enhance our Cardiopulmonary Department.
The Respiratory Therapist operates under the direct oversight of the Cardiopulmonary Manager and in accordance with the Cardiopulmonary Medical Director's guidance. This role involves executing comprehensive cardiopulmonary procedures essential for diagnosing and treating various medical conditions, exacerbations, and injuries. The therapist will effectively engage with patients and their families while fostering collaborative relationships with interdepartmental staff and support personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct diagnostic tests and procedures adhering to established Medical Center policies and regulatory standards.
- Ensure compliance with competency standards and requirements of the Cardiopulmonary department.
- Organize workload and maintain the department's facility and workstations efficiently.
- Document patient records accurately and ensure proper charge capture for each procedure performed.
- Participate actively in the department's quality assurance initiatives, including preventive maintenance.
- Manage inventory levels effectively to support scheduled shifts.
- Complete necessary forms and obtain consent for specific examinations.
- Contribute to the updating and maintenance of departmental policies and procedures.
- Participate in staff meetings, educational sessions, and departmental retreats.
- Adhere to departmental policies and procedures diligently.
- Meet audit goals related to various compliance measures.
- Provide guidance to students fulfilling clinical requirements.
- Be mindful of budget constraints and work to minimize errors and waste.
- Assist with administrative duties related to front desk responsibilities as needed.
- Coordinate patient care both internally and with external facilities and providers.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment and maintain positive relationships with staff, patients, and families.
- Strong communication and writing skills.
- Proficient in computer applications including email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and electronic medical records.
- Commitment to ongoing education to fulfill licensure requirements and personal development.
- Capability to work independently and manage stress effectively.
Work Schedule:
This full-time position requires flexibility to cover various shifts within the Cardiopulmonary Department, including 12-hour day and night shifts, as well as 8 to 10-hour outpatient therapy shifts.
Educational Background:
Candidates must have completed an accredited Respiratory Therapy program and possess a current Montana state license in Respiratory Therapy.
Experience:
Applicants may hold either Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credentials. Maintenance of certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Advanced Life Support (NRP) is required.
