Job Title: Water Resources Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Water Resources Engineer to join our team in Boston, Massachusetts. As a key member of our water resources team, you will be responsible for delivering cutting-edge solutions to public and private clients of all sizes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement water supply planning, groundwater and surface water modeling, water quality, stormwater/BMPs, collection system modeling and design support, hydraulics, hydrodynamic modeling, dam safety and emergency action planning, floodplain mapping, water distribution modeling, coastal erosion, sustainability and climate resiliency planning, data analytics, dashboards, watershed management, ocean outfalls, wave modeling, effluent recharge planning, and permitting support.
  • Collaborate with our Climate Adaption Discipline to incorporate climate change impacts into project planning and design.
  • Provide technical guidance, technical reviews, mentoring, and training to more junior staff.
  • Utilize and support the development of CDM Smith's Technical Knowledge Management systems and Technical Knowledge Management material.
  • Collaborate with sales staff to create proposals in response to client requests.
  • Meet with current and potential future clients.
  • Attend conferences, symposia, etc. to improve the visibility of the firm's products and services in collaboration with applicable sales staff.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Civil, Coastal or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Certification as an Engineer in Training (EIT) or passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam in states where an EIT is not obtainable (within 18 months of hire or promotion or transfer).
  • 5 years of related experience.
  • Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
