Stan Houston Equipment Company is looking for a dedicated Full-Time Purchasing Assistant to enhance our team.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday during standard business hours with a rotating Saturday morning schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the management of purchase orders for tools, equipment, and related supplies, ensuring accuracy in pricing and delivery information.
  • Engage with suppliers and manufacturers to gather quotes, lead times, and product availability, providing the Purchasing Specialist with essential data for decision-making.
  • Support stock replenishment efforts and maintain optimal inventory levels to fulfill customer requirements.
  • Keep precise and current records of purchase orders, invoices, delivery receipts, and other pertinent documentation, entering data into purchasing and inventory systems.
  • Help verify received products for accuracy, condition, and compliance with safety standards.
  • Foster positive relationships with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure reliable and timely deliveries, addressing any issues that may arise.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Purchasing Specialist and other departments, including organizing files and responding to inquiries.

Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of inventory and purchasing processes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members, vendors, and customers.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment.
  • Capability to multitask in a fast-paced setting.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Basic computer proficiency for operating systems and accessing product information.
  • Awareness of safety procedures and a commitment to adhering to them.

Requirements for Success:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred experience in purchasing or supply chain management.
  • Experience with construction tools and equipment is a plus.
