Job Title: Director of Research

We are seeking an exceptional scholar to join our team as the Director of Research at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. This is a unique opportunity to lead our research infrastructure and contribute to the advancement of Hospital Medicine.

About the Role

The Director of Research will be responsible for developing and implementing a research strategic plan within the Division of Hospital Medicine. This will involve serving as a resource for research methodology, research project planning, and championing a culture of discovery. The successful candidate will also mentor faculty, trainees, and students to ensure sound project planning, execution, data analysis, and publication of results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a research strategic plan within the Division of Hospital Medicine
  • Serve as a resource for research methodology and research project planning
  • Champion a culture of discovery and innovation
  • Mentor faculty, trainees, and students to ensure sound project planning and execution
  • Work closely with faculty to develop research plans and proposals
  • Provide assistance in the management of research budgets and research conflicts
  • Oversight of research staff and development of research reports
Requirements
  • MD, DO, MBBS, or equivalent degree with formal training or credentials in a relevant discipline
  • Ability to obtain full medical license in the state of Ohio
  • An actively funded research program in basic, translational, clinical, or health services research
  • A record of scholarly achievement and funding capabilities
  • Experience in research mentorship
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills
  • High productivity in regards to peer-reviewed publications and presentations
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative research relationships
