Key Responsibilities

The Development Manager will be responsible for the following key responsibilities:

  • Implementing outreach, cultivation, and stewardship of new and existing donors;
  • Identifying potential funders that align with the Equal Justice Initiative's mission and core values;
  • Responding to incoming requests from existing and potential donors;
  • Fully understanding the organization's program work and context in order to effectively communicate to supporters the impact of their contributions;
  • Carefully following standard operating procedures to ensure timely and efficient response, reporting, and accountability to all internal and external constituencies;
  • Maintaining records and responding to requests related to estate gifts;
  • Accurately processing donations, pledges, and donor records in the database and preparing donor thank you letters;
  • Assisting with campaigns, mailings, special events, and other development functions in partnership with the Deputy Director of Development and Executive Director.

The estimated salary for this position is $75,000-$90,000 per year, depending on experience. We offer a generous benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
