Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Bartelt Machine Operator to join our team at FactoryFix. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating the Bartelt machine, ensuring quality production, and maintaining a safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate the Bartelt machine and ensure all safety procedures are followed.
- Perform pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation.
- Monitor the machine to ensure quality production and reduce unplanned downtime.
- Change film and zipper as needed.
- Make machine adjustments for proper bag fill and position.
- Assist the maintenance department with scheduled preventive maintenance.
- Perform housekeeping duties.
- Inspect machine outputs for quality control.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks.
- Ensure a safe work environment and adhere to 5S and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
- Perform in-process inspections and ensure parts meet documented and visual standards of acceptance.
- Monitor production efficiency and address line stoppage.
- Collaborate with line leads to ensure proper reports and daily activities are submitted.
- Assure all manufacturing equipment is well maintained and calibrated.
- Feed new material, test manufactured products, and make operational adjustments as necessary.
- Adhere to materials FIFO and return material correctly and timely.
Requirements:
- 3 years of Bartlett Operator experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with vertical/horizontal baggers and text wrappers.
- Machine shop math and blueprint reading skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment.
- Ability to problem-solve and set up and run jobs without supervision.
- Self-motivated, focused, and results-oriented.
- Troubleshooting experience.
- Basic computer skills and ability to utilize Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Able to read and write English; bilingual Spanish and English preferred.
- Effective at building quick interpersonal rapport and trust.
- Ability to write and speak clearly to openly communicate.
Physical Capabilities:
- Ability to regularly lift, carry, turn, and rise; and/or lift, turn, and bend down to place a unit weighing up to 50 lb. on to a pallet or stack of units.
- Full mobility in, and use of, arms, hands, and legs.
- Ability to sit for long periods of time.
- Able to function in a semi-loud environment with frequent loud bursts of noise.
- Able to see so as to operate machinery safely and efficiently.
