Position Overview
Peterbilt Motors Company is looking for a Reliability Engineer to enhance product development through analytical and testing methodologies. Key Responsibilities
- Guide systems engineers in reliability engineering principles, including reliability growth and modeling.
- Work with system owners to establish reliability and durability objectives from systems to components for new vehicle designs.
- Collaborate with testing and simulation teams to validate analytical results and track reliability improvements.
- Conduct training sessions on reliability practices and assist in the creation of FMEA, DVP, and Control Plans.
- Evaluate field failures against FMEAs and DVP&R's to identify enhancement opportunities.
- Calculate reliability metrics for newly launched products and initiatives.
- Generate Weibull analysis reports with actionable recommendations for engineering teams.
- Present reliability enhancement strategies for systems and components to management.
- Lead the development of a roadmap for vehicle reliability and durability to support new product initiatives.
- Travel expectations are minimal, less than 10%.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline is required; a Master's in Reliability Engineering is preferred.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis software, such as Minitab, is essential.
- Familiarity with reliability analysis tools like WRR (Windchill Risk and Reliability suite) is advantageous.
- Experience with CAD software, specifically Creo and Windchill, is preferred.
- Ability to learn and facilitate FMEAs, DVPs, and Control Plans.
- Knowledge of DFSS tools; DFSS Belt training or certification is a plus.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems in vehicles, mechatronic systems, and software impacts.
- Willingness to learn new tools and stay abreast of technological advancements in the field.
- Ability to foster collaboration among teams while achieving project goals.
- Strong analytical and project management capabilities.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and technical writing skills.
- Demonstrated initiative, adaptability, and effective workload management.
