POSITION OVERVIEW

In the Electrophysiology (EP) division at Abbott, we are at the forefront of innovating treatments for heart disease through advanced medical technologies, particularly in the area of atrial fibrillation, enabling individuals to regain their health and continue their lives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Under general supervision, you will provide engineering, sales, educational, and technical assistance in response to inquiries from healthcare professionals, patients, and sales teams regarding EP products. Your role will involve a significant degree of autonomy, where you will:

  • Serve as a clinical liaison between the medical community and the organization.
  • Establish and maintain credible relationships with clients, sharing your expertise on products.
  • Deliver engineering, sales, and clinical support as needed, demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of EP products and industry trends.
  • Design and lead training sessions on EP products for healthcare professionals.
  • Offer insights and feedback to management regarding market trends and future product developments.
  • Provide procedural case coverage for EP in your region.
  • Support EP Sales Representatives in various capacities, including:
    • Sales assistance
    • Training seminars
    • Clinical studies and data collection
    • Troubleshooting
    • Product training for medical staff
  • Continuously enhance your engineering, sales, and technical skills in alignment with the Arrhythmia Management strategy.
  • Assist in the development of educational materials and advanced training seminars.
  • Conduct product demonstrations for visiting healthcare professionals.
  • Stay informed about advancements in your field, regulatory standards, and competitive products.
  • Identify and resolve issues, ensuring effective solutions are implemented.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Bio-Medical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent healthcare experience.
  • Ability to obtain certification on EP products.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience in cardiac pacing or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of cardiology and electrophysiology procedures.
  • Familiarity with catheterization lab and operating room protocols.
  • Advanced knowledge of cardiac pacing systems is essential.
  • Proficient in applying engineering skills to address complex clinical challenges.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with the capacity to work independently.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, technical specialists, and clients to achieve objectives.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office or equivalent software for creating presentation materials.
