About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Life Skills Professional to join our team at Resources for Human Development. As a Life Skills Professional, you will play a critical role in supporting individuals with substance use treatment needs in a residential setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain relationships with residents, providing encouragement and support to help them achieve their treatment goals.
  • Identify and access community resources to support residents' needs, including healthcare, education, and employment opportunities.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment through regular safety checks, building rounds, and engagement with all residents.
  • Provide oversight and demonstration of life skills, including cooking, cleaning, and other activities of daily living.
  • Complete documentation, including incident reports, shift reports, and other reporting as required.
  • Participate as a member of the treatment team, actively contributing to team discussions and email communications to share observations and insights.
Requirements
  • 2 years of direct care service experience in drug and alcohol treatment is required.
  • High school diploma or GED is required; some human service-related secondary education is preferred.
  • Basic computer and typing skills are required; willingness to be trained in the use of electronic health records is essential.
  • CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.
