Position Overview

Chamberlain University is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Maternal Child Clinical Faculty in our Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.

This position involves onsite teaching in collaboration with our clinical partners. The typical schedule consists of 12-hour shifts (7a-7p) for three to four consecutive days.

Course Focus:

The Maternal-Child Nursing course emphasizes family-centered care for maternal and newborn health, addressing health promotion and wellness. Key topics include the childbearing cycle, high-risk factors, complications, and various women's health issues. Students will engage in experiential learning across diverse populations and settings.

Key Responsibilities

As a clinical instructor, you will:

  • Implement the university's educational philosophy, curriculum, and course objectives through effective clinical teaching.
  • Take responsibility for all aspects of your teaching assignments.
  • Plan and supervise clinical experiences for nursing students, ensuring quality care delivery.
  • Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback based on course objectives.
  • Offer remediation support to students as necessary.
  • Stay informed about agency policies and procedures with the help of clinical personnel.
  • Create and distribute clinical assignments tailored to students' knowledge and skill levels.
  • Grade various assignments promptly and fairly.
  • May assist in teaching didactic content under the guidance of the course coordinator.
  • Communicate any student or agency concerns to the course coordinator.
  • Report to the dean or assistant dean, with oversight from the course coordinator.

Qualifications

You are encouraged to apply if you possess:

  • A master's or doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • An active professional nursing license in the state of Maryland.
  • At least two years of professional nursing experience within the last five years in the relevant instructional area.
  • Preferred teaching or precepting experience.
  • A genuine passion for nursing, education, and lifelong learning.
  • Exceptional expertise in the subject matter along with strong communication skills.
  • A commitment to serving students and colleagues with respect and care.
  • A sense of responsibility and purpose aimed at enriching the community.
  • A valid Illinois nursing license prior to accepting any clinical contracts.

Additional Information

The expected compensation for this position ranges from $1,120 to $7,245 per assignment, based on the candidate's qualifications and experience. Actual pay may vary based on job-related factors such as course type, experience, location, and departmental budgets.
