Maternal Child Nursing Faculty Position

Chamberlain University is seeking dedicated Maternal Child Nursing Faculty (part-time) for our Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.
This teaching role is onsite in collaboration with our clinical partners. The typical schedule consists of 12-hour shifts (7 AM to 7 PM) for three to four consecutive days.
Course Focus:
The Maternal-Child Nursing course emphasizes family-centered care for maternal and newborn health, addressing health promotion and wellness. It covers the childbearing cycle, including normal experiences, high-risk factors, complications, and various women's health issues. The experiential learning component incorporates diverse populations and settings.
As a clinical instructor, you will play a crucial role in shaping the next generation of nurses. Your expertise and commitment to education are invaluable.
Key Responsibilities
In this capacity, the clinical instructor will:
- Implement the College's educational philosophy, curriculum, and course objectives through effective clinical teaching.
- Take responsibility for all aspects of individual teaching assignments.
- Plan and supervise clinical experiences, ensuring quality nursing care delivery by students.
- Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback based on course objectives.
- Offer remediation support to students as necessary.
- Stay informed about agency and clinical policies with the help of clinical personnel.
- Develop and assign clinical tasks tailored to students' knowledge and skill levels.
- Grade assignments, quizzes, and clinical paperwork promptly.
- May assist in teaching didactic content under the guidance of the course coordinator.
- Keep the course coordinator updated on student and agency matters.
- Report to the dean or assistant dean, with oversight from the course coordinator.
Qualifications
We encourage applications from candidates who possess:
- A master's or doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- An active, unencumbered nursing license in the state of Maryland.
- At least two years of professional nursing experience within the last five years in the relevant instructional area.
- Preferred experience in teaching or precepting, though not mandatory.
- A genuine passion for nursing, education, and lifelong learning.
- Exceptional expertise in the subject matter, along with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A commitment to serving students and colleagues with respect and care.
- A sense of responsibility and purpose, aiming to enrich the community.
- Possession of an Illinois nursing license before accepting any clinical contracts.

Additional Information
