Outpatient Imaging Culpeper is on the lookout for a dedicated, enthusiastic, and compassionate professional to become part of our dynamic, patient-centered team. If you have a passion for patient care and enjoy engaging with individuals, we invite you to consider the role of Mammography Technologist. This full-time position operates on a schedule of Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional Saturdays as needed. The ideal candidate should also be proficient in performing Bone Density and/or X-ray procedures.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under the supervision of the Radiology Medical Director, the Mammography Technologist will:
- Act as a lead technologist/team captain for designated shifts.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to fellow Mammography Technologists.
- Conduct breast imaging procedures and related techniques, generating data for interpretation by licensed independent practitioners.
- Perform bone density or x-ray procedures as required.
- Ensure that all services are delivered in a safe environment, adhering to established guidelines and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with the imaging center team, actively seeking and providing feedback to enhance clinical practices.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- A minimum of an Associate's Degree in Radiology or graduation from an accredited two-year radiology program is required.
CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
Candidates must be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography and maintain current registration from ARRT. Additionally, a Mammography advanced registration through ARRT is required, along with compliance with state licensure requirements. BLS certification must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Proficiency in operating Mammography equipment and relevant ancillary devices.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Capability to document information accurately and succinctly.
- Understanding of human cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, radiopharmacology, and medical terminology.
- Familiarity with computer applications, including information and billing systems, keyboard input, digital archiving, and data retrieval.
