About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at UVA Health Northern VA & Culpeper. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Job Summary

The Radiology Technologist will assist physicians in the performance of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures by preparing patients and operating x-ray equipment to obtain diagnostic images. This role requires a strong understanding of radiographic equipment and accessories, as well as excellent analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort while in the radiology department
  • Explain procedures and post-procedure orders to patients to gain cooperation and minimize anxiety
  • Prioritize workflow based on patient condition and ensure timely arrival and departure
  • Provide a supportive atmosphere to gain patient cooperation and confidence
  • Utilize patient satisfaction and practice performance data to identify opportunities for improvement and participate in planning and improvement processes
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required; graduate of an accredited Radiology program
  • 2 years of experience in diagnostic radiology preferred
  • ARRT or registry eligible required; registry eligible technologist must successfully complete the ARRT certification exam in Radiology within 90 days of hire
  • Applicable state licensure as required
Working Conditions

This role requires standing for prolonged periods, frequent travel, and reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive). Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills are necessary, as well as attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Ability to lift/push/pull up to 100 lbs. May be exposed to radiation.
