Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team at UC Davis Health System. As a Hand Consult/ED Surgical Services Nurse Practitioner, you will provide daily support of the Hand Consult/ED service and other surgical services as needed. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage assigned patients, consults, and procedures independently.
  • Work collaboratively with physician colleagues in the division of labor to ensure timely consults and admissions, including orders, from the ED.
  • Perform procedures within scope of practice and standardized procedures.
  • Provide independent advanced practice provider clinical expertise to patients and their families on an on-going basis.
  • Manage chronic stable medical conditions, routine care, acute or critical care, and medical and specialty protocols.
  • Participate in patient and staff education.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills.
Requirements
  • One year or greater experience as an ED or surgical service nurse practitioner required.
  • Graduation with a master's degree, DNP or PhD in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Valid California Registered Nurse License without restriction
  • California Nurse Practitioner Furnishing License
  • California Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) without restriction
  • Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Certificate within 3 months of hire
  • American Heart Association (AHA) BLS CPR Certification
  • National NP board certification in aligned specialty with the practice area
Preferred Qualifications
  • Three years or greater recent clinical experience as an ED or surgical service Nurse Practitioner.
