Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Practice Provider to join our team at UC Davis Health System. As a Nurse Practitioner for Hand and Upper Extremity Care, you will provide expert clinical care to patients with hand and upper extremity conditions, working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide independent advanced practice provider clinical expertise to patients and their families, managing chronic stable medical conditions, routine care, acute or critical care, and medical and specialty protocols.
  • Perform procedures within scope of practice and standardized procedures, including non-invasive or invasive procedures, fracture reduction and splinting, surgical procedures, and wound care.
  • Work collaboratively with physician colleagues to ensure timely consults and admissions, including orders, from the ED.
  • Manage assigned patients, consults, and procedures independently, applying knowledge, experience, and judgment to determine the importance of a situation, set priorities, and use abstract thought to evaluate clinical situations.
  • Participate in patient and staff education, demonstrating leadership skills and accountability for own practices as defined by the Nurse Practice Act.
Requirements
  • One year or greater experience as an ED or surgical service nurse practitioner required.
  • Graduation with a master's degree, DNP, or PhD in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Valid California Registered Nurse License without restriction.
  • California Nurse Practitioner Furnishing License.
  • California Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) without restriction.
  • Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Certificate within 3 months of hire.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) BLS CPR Certification.
  • National NP board certification in aligned specialty with the practice area.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Three years or greater recent clinical experience as an ED or surgical service Nurse Practitioner.
