Linux Administrator Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Linux Administrator to join our team at Omega Solutions. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in administering Linux systems, with a strong background in storage, disk management, and Logical Volume Management (LVM).

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing user accounts, system security, change management, and performance tuning. They will also be expected to install and configure services such as NFS, DNS, BIND, OpenSSL, and certificate authority, as well as troubleshoot I/O errors, disk errors, and package dependency issues.

The Linux Administrator will work closely with our team to ensure the smooth operation of our Linux infrastructure. They will be responsible for upgrading and patching Linux systems, re-configuring systems, and managing resource skillsets.

  • Over 5 years of experience as a Linux Administrator
  • Knowledge and experience with various flavors of Linux, including Oracle Linux, CentOS, Debian, and Redhat
  • Strong technical background in storage, disk management, and LVM
  • Experience with installation and configuration services such as NFS, DNS, BIND, OpenSSL, and certificate authority
  • Ability to troubleshoot I/O errors, disk errors, and package dependency issues
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
