Job Description

Our client is a leader in the commercial construction sector, focusing on both new builds and tenant improvements. This role involves managing the processing of client and vendor invoices related to project construction and operational activities. The ideal candidate will possess experience with Schedule of Value (SOV) billings and lien releases, with a background in the construction industry being essential.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate reconciliation of invoices against contracts, handling a significant volume of invoices while maintaining proper documentation and authorization.
  • Perform data entry and maintain organized filing systems.
  • Reconcile accounts for both clients and vendors.
  • Develop and maintain vendor relationships, confirming qualifications and insurance coverage.
  • Monitor preliminary notices from subcontractors and material suppliers.
  • Investigate accounts receivable and accounts payable discrepancies, resolving issues as necessary.
  • Conduct month-end reconciliations.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in the construction field is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years in a high-volume, fast-paced accounts payable environment, with familiarity in computerized Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable systems; experience with Sage Timberline Office is preferred.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of accounts receivable and accounts payable within the construction context.
  • Knowledge of Schedule of Value projects.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, particularly Word and Excel, with excellent data entry capabilities.
  • General understanding of contracts, preliminary notices, and lien releases.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Self-motivated and capable of thriving in a team-oriented setting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
