Senior Procurement Planner

Job Overview

This role is integral to the Advance Sourcing team, tasked with overseeing the coordination of procurement initiatives and dialogues pertinent to New Product Development (NPD) projects. The Senior NPD Buyer serves as the communication nexus between project teams and relevant suppliers, ensuring seamless transitions to production operations material buyers as product launches near. This position operates within a matrix structure, reporting to the Advance Sourcing Manager while collaborating with stakeholders across various business units.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a vital member of multiple NPD project teams throughout their life cycles.
  • Function as the primary liaison between suppliers and project teams.
  • Facilitate clear communication of requirements between suppliers and project teams.
  • Ensure timely availability of goods and services throughout the project life cycle, including prototypes, engineering builds, validations, and launches. Initiate necessary follow-ups and provide updates to relevant team members.
  • Maintain strict adherence to OSTA Purchasing Policy and OSTA Quality Management System.
  • Assist Advance Sourcing Managers in formulating a comprehensive sourcing and supply chain strategy for all assigned projects.
  • Contribute to efforts aimed at reducing total cost of ownership (TCO) and promote interdepartmental communication to identify and implement best practices for cost reductions.
  • Provide mentorship and training to Associate Buyers and Buyers to enhance their skills in supporting the Purchasing Function.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Associate's degree is mandatory.
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred, ideally in business, engineering, purchasing, or supply chain.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Procurement is essential.
  • Experience in the Medical Device Industry is advantageous.
  • Experience in an NPD environment is highly desirable.

Preferred:

  • Proficiency in SAP/ERP systems.
  • Experience with Oracle (Oracle Cloud) is beneficial.
