Position Overview:

We are seeking a Cyber Risk Management Specialist to join our team. This role is fully remote, with occasional in-office meetings required on a quarterly basis.

Key Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must possess:

  • Proven technical security experience across a diverse range of Azure services.
  • Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert certification.
  • In-depth knowledge of:
    • Azure Cloud and Microsoft 365 security frameworks, solutions, and strategic developments.
    • Azure Key Vault, Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Active Directory, Defender for Cloud, Azure Monitor, Azure API Management, and Application Gateway.
  • Additional certifications in other Azure security domains are advantageous.

Role Responsibilities:

Under the guidance of the Section Chief (Governance, Risk, Compliance & Data Security), the Cyber Risk Management Specialist will deliver expertise in information risk management and IT security. This includes:

  • Conducting comprehensive information security risk assessments for projects, new technologies, external service providers, and IT modifications, while advising on risk mitigation strategies.
  • Effectively communicating requirements and training IT staff and management to identify and manage risks throughout project lifecycles.
  • Reporting on risk metrics to IT management and governance bodies.
  • Maintaining objectivity in IT systems to generate unbiased information security risk reports.
  • Performing quality assurance reviews of security requirements and audit recommendations.
  • Managing the engagement process with external risk assessment providers and liaising with internal IT project teams.
  • Supporting the organization's ISO 27001 certification by promoting adherence to policies and standards among IT personnel.
  • Assisting in the development of enterprise security architecture standards across various levels.
  • Collaborating with IT project teams to create implementation plans for new security products and services.
  • Coordinating the preparation of user support and training materials to ensure secure and efficient use of technology.

Experience Requirements:

The candidate should have:

  • Experience in Information Risk Management within organizations with regulatory compliance mandates.
  • Experience implementing Vendor Risk Assessment frameworks.
  • Demonstrated expertise in IT Security across infrastructure, network, applications, and database technologies.
  • Experience in delivering Enterprise Security Architecture principles and service management concepts.
  • Knowledge of vulnerability management and incident response processes.

Skills:

The successful candidate will exhibit:

  • Familiarity with a wide array of technologies, coupled with deep knowledge in specific relevant areas.
  • Strong analytical skills for synthesizing diverse inputs and enabling strategic and tactical implementation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to foster trust and collaboration among colleagues.
  • Effective communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in balancing security needs with business realities.

Educational Background:

The candidate should possess:

  • An advanced degree in Information Security with a minimum of 5 years of experience in regulated industries, or
  • A Bachelor's degree in Information Security with at least 10 years of relevant experience, or
  • An advanced degree in a related field with a minimum of 12 years of experience in regulated industries.

Certifications:

Preferred certifications include:

  • CISSP (minimum)
  • GIAC, GSSP-NET, GWAPT, GPEN (preferred)
  • CISM (preferred)
