Geotechnical Field Specialist

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Geotechnical Field Specialist to support our Project Managers, Engineers, and Geologists in field testing, inspection, and lab work. This role offers the chance to work on a range of construction and environmental projects, travel to diverse sites, and contribute to important data-driven projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain assigned testing equipment, ensuring all tools are set up, tested, and cleaned for optimal performance at project sites.
- Conduct precise soils and asphalt testing, perform observational assessments, and collect material samples for lab analysis, helping ensure accurate project data.
- Assist with lab work, preparing samples for testing, documenting outcomes, and accurately recording visual and numerical observations for project integrity.
- Complete and submit detailed daily reports and material testing data sheets in a timely, organized manner to ensure up-to-date project documentation.
- Maintain comprehensive records in project and drilling logs and updates electronic databases to ensure data accuracy and accessibility.
- Communicate effectively with Project Managers, Engineers, and Contractors to discuss project concerns and develop effective resolutions as needed.
- Meet project timelines, including occasional availability for night and weekend work, to support project requirements.
Requirements:
- LA Grading, NDG, ACI and ICC Soils certification is a plus
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in soils and asphalt testing.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to safety.
