The Opportunity

As an EV Charging Equipment Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to identify and resolve issues related to EV charging stations. This role encompasses hardware replacements, upgrades, and maintenance of electrical systems for various EV charging technologies. Additionally, you will be tasked with servicing and installing a range of electronic devices, including security systems and Point of Sale equipment. Adherence to safety protocols, thorough documentation, and accurate reporting are critical components of this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and rectify various technical issues promptly and effectively.
  • Conduct Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) testing as required.
  • Implement necessary upgrades and modifications.
  • Oversee testing protocols, including torque, thermal imagery, insulation (megger), and performance evaluations.
  • Identify system performance discrepancies and address ground faults.
  • Maintain clear communication with colleagues and clients regarding scheduling and work progress.
  • Review work orders, manuals, and schematics to ensure proper maintenance and servicing of equipment.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair a diverse array of electro-mechanical devices, such as cash registers, coin changers, security systems, alarms, and Point of Sale equipment.
  • Complete service requests and maintenance tasks efficiently while maintaining professionalism.
  • Utilize a variety of testing instruments and hand/power tools relevant to the job.
  • May be temporarily assigned to different locations to assist with new installations and upgrades.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year of experience in an electrical role or relevant education.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting capabilities are essential.
  • Experience with EV Charging Stations or related power electronics is advantageous.
  • Electrical certifications or licenses are preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate effective problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to safety and compliance with all safety regulations.
  • Familiarity with CPE250 Standalone, CPE250 Paired, CT4000, and CPF50 training is a plus.
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation with fellow technicians in your region.
  • Experience with various Point of Sale systems (Verifone/NCR) and alarm systems is beneficial.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A valid driving record is necessary.
  • Proficiency in using computers and smartphones is expected.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

This position involves moderate to strenuous physical activity, including walking, climbing, standing, carrying materials, stooping, kneeling, and bending. Candidates must be capable of climbing ladders and lifting/carrying up to 70 lbs. Work will be conducted in both indoor and outdoor settings.
